Survivor Stories 2013:
THANK YOU!
WE DID IT! YES! Another year of Survivor Stories is in the books and it was the biggest one to date (you can see them all here)!
First and foremost, thank you to all the survivors who dug deep and told their stories of hope and fear, challenge and triumph.
Our team effort could not have done it without you all!
And it was quite a team…
I have to give big sloppy kisses and simultaneous high-5’s to GEM blog coordinator Jackie Gailey and contributor Alexis Trass Walker. The two of them gathered the stories from all over the country, then gave them the GEM treatment (that’s just a whole lotta love). Each day we featured between 1 and 4 Survivor Stories, totaling nearly 100! I’m so happy to have had this opportunity to share stories and educate about breast cancer, something we have done every year for the past 4 years.
The first year we did this, we featured the stories of 5 women. This year we had nearly 100! Women and men told us about their breast cancer diagnosis, what got them through it and what they learned. Next year (and yes, we’re planning already) is gonna be even bigger!
But I must also give big props to Jade and Jasper who saw our Survivor Stories and came on board as our exclusive, presenting sponsor! Jade and Jasper exhibited its commitment to finding a cure with its own campaign, which included donating a portion of proceeds to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. There’s a special place in my heart for organizations who understand the importance of research; it is research that is going lead us to a cure.
So Jade and Jasper… thank you. Thank you for jumping in, rolling up your sleeves (no doubt, showing some beautiful arm candy!) and working hard to fund those who are working hard to find a cure.
And lastly, thank you, GEMnation for reading, sharing and commenting on all of our Survivor Stories! Together we can and will change the course of a disease that affects so many!
